Job Overview
We are looking for a motivated Correctional Supervising Cook to lead our culinary operations within a correctional setting. This role involves overseeing meal preparation, ensuring food safety, and managing kitchen staff to deliver nutritious and well-presented meals. The ideal candidate will bring strong culinary skills, leadership abilities, and experience in food service environments.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily kitchen activities, including meal preparation and food handling, to meet safety and quality standards.
- Plan menus that accommodate dietary needs and preferences while adhering to nutritional guidelines.
- Oversee food preparation processes, ensuring efficient use of ingredients and proper cooking techniques.
- Lead and train kitchen staff, including dietary aides, to maintain high performance and teamwork.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, following strict health and safety regulations.
- Manage inventory levels, monitor stock rotation, and report shortages or issues promptly.
- Ensure all meals are served on time and meet the facility’s standards for presentation and taste.
Nice to have Experience
- Knowledge of food safety practices, including proper handling and sanitation procedures.
- Skills in culinary arts such as knife skills, meal preparation, catering, and food service operations.
