About the Position
Green Guru Landscaping is looking for an experienced paver and artificial turf installation crew to join our growing landscape construction team in the Las Vegas area.
We are looking for a professional crew that takes pride in quality workmanship and understands proper installation practices for both interlocking concrete pavers and synthetic turf.
Our projects include patios, walkways, driveways, pool decks, outdoor living areas, putting/playing areas, pet turf, and residential artificial turf installations.
Paver Installation Responsibilities
The paver crew will be responsible for properly installing interlocking concrete pavers according to manufacturer specifications and accepted ICPI installation practices, including:
- Proper layout and preparation
- Excavation to appropriate depths
- Subgrade preparation and compaction
- Installation and compaction of aggregate base
- Proper grading and drainage
- Installation of bedding sand
- Accurate paver installation and pattern layout
- Proper cutting and fitting around walls, curves, drains, and structures
- Installation of appropriate edge restraints
- Joint sand installation
- Mechanical compaction
- Maintaining proper elevations, slopes, lines, and patterns
- Final cleanup and protection of completed work
Artificial Turf Installation Responsibilities
The turf crew will be responsible for complete artificial turf installation from site preparation through final cleanup.
Responsibilities include:
- Removal of existing grass, weeds, vegetation, and unsuitable soil
- Proper excavation and preparation of the installation area
- Installation and compaction of appropriate aggregate base material
- Establishing proper grade and drainage
- Installation of weed barrier/fabric when required
- Accurate turf measuring, cutting, fitting, and layout
- Proper seaming and seam preparation
- Securing turf with appropriate landscape staples/nails
- Proper stretching and tensioning of turf
- Detail work around curbs, walls, irrigation, drains, trees, planters, and other obstacles
- Proper infill installation and distribution
- Power brooming and grooming of completed turf
- Proper finishing of edges and transitions
- Identifying and correcting wrinkles, uneven areas, visible seams, or other installation defects
- Final cleanup and jobsite preparation
Turf Installation Standards
We are looking for a crew that understands that quality artificial turf installation starts with proper base preparation.
The installation process should include:
Excavation → Subgrade Preparation → Aggregate Base → Proper Compaction → Grading/Drainage → Turf Layout → Seaming → Stretching → Securing → Infill → Power Brooming → Final Inspection
Experience with pet-friendly turf installations is a strong plus, including proper drainage considerations and odor-control/infill systems.
Qualifications
Required:
- Minimum 3 years of professional hardscape and/or artificial turf installation experience
- Proven experience installing concrete pavers and/or artificial turf
- Strong understanding of proper base preparation and compaction
- Knowledge of ICPI installation practices preferred
- Ability to establish and maintain proper grades and drainage
- Ability to read and follow construction plans and layouts
- Experience with professional installation tools and equipment
- Reliable transportation and appropriate tools/equipment
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to complete projects efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship
- Professional and reliable communication
Preferred:
- ICPI certification
- Extensive artificial turf installation experience
- Experience with pet turf
- Experience with large residential landscape projects
- Experience installing paver driveways, patios, pool decks, and outdoor living areas
- Experience working from landscape plans and construction drawings
- Ability to provide references and photos of completed projects
What We Are Looking For
We are not looking for inexperienced laborers or crews that simply know how to install pavers or roll out turf.
We are looking for an experienced installation crew that understands the importance of proper site preparation, base construction, compaction, drainage, grading, installation techniques, and finishing details.
The finished project needs to look professional and hold up over time.
