We are seeking a passionate and energetic Woodwind Teacher to inspire and nurture students in mastering wind instruments such as the flute, clarinet, oboe, bassoon, and saxophone. Duties
- Design and implement comprehensive lesson plans tailored to students’ skill levels and learning styles in woodwind performance
- Conduct individual and group lessons focused on instrumental technique, tone production, sight-reading, and musical expression
- Develop innovative curriculum materials that incorporate music theory, performance skills, and creative arts integration
- Manage classroom dynamics effectively to ensure a positive, respectful, and motivating learning environment
- Prepare students for performances, recitals, and competitions by providing coaching on stage presence and performance etiquette
- Collaborate with other arts educators to integrate cross-disciplinary projects such as choreography, theater arts, or visual arts into music instruction
- Track student progress through assessments and provide constructive feedback to encourage continuous improvement
Requirements
- Proven experience teaching wind instruments with a strong background in curriculum development and classroom management
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children, youth programs, and adult learners in diverse settings
- Expertise in teaching visual & performing arts, including choreography, dance instruction (ballet or dancing), theater experience, or related creative arts fields
- Knowledge of musical instruments specific to woodwind performance along with general music education principles
- Experience working with students of varying ages including preschoolers and those involved in childhood development programs
- Skills in behavior management and creating inclusive classroom environments that foster creativity and discipline
- Familiarity with photography or sewing is a plus for integrating arts projects into lessons
- Strong communication skills paired with a passion for inspiring others through teaching arts
