Lone Star Animal Hospital is located in Magnolia, Tx and is a privately owned hospital! We are looking for Veterinary Technicians and Assistants to help grow and expand our clinic.
Operating hours:
- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday = 7:30am - 5pm
- Thursday = 7:30 - 1pm
- Saturday = 8-12 pm
- Closed Every Sunday
Full-time or Part-time availability. No on call hours, emergency extended after-hours or overnight shifts required.
This position is requiring at least 1 year of experience as a veterinary technician. Licensing (LVT) or Certification (CVA) not required but preferred. Any additional certificates such as in nutrition, fear free, or laser therapy are encouraged and also increase pay scale. Pay scale based on experience and licensing or certification.
We have surgical and room tech opportunities available, although a strong candidate will have experience and training in both.
A strong applicant will have experience with the following:
- Pharmacology knowledge
- Anesthesia monitoring
- Dental cleaning
- Animal restraint for physical examinations
- Venipuncture
- Laboratory Procedures
- Use of radiology equipment
- Client relations and communication
- Placement of IV catheters
- Hospital patient care
- Knowledge of vaccination and prevention protocols etc.
The veterinary technician position requires a highly skilled and experienced individual with at least 1 year of practical experience in the field of veterinary medicine. The ideal candidate has successfully completed a degree in veterinary technology and holds a LVT license, demonstrating a strong academic foundation and dedication to their profession.
As a veterinary technician, your primary responsibility will be to provide exceptional care and support to animals under the supervision of a licensed veterinarian. You will utilize your extensive knowledge and technical skills to assist in various veterinary procedures, including but not limited to, administering medications, conducting laboratory tests, monitoring anesthesia, and assisting in surgical procedures.
In addition to your technical expertise, you will also play a crucial role in educating pet owners on proper animal care, providing guidance on nutrition, medication administration, and preventive healthcare measures. Your excellent communication skills will be essential in effectively conveying information to clients and collaborating with the veterinary team.
As a valued member of our veterinary practice, you will be expected to maintain accurate medical records, ensure the cleanliness and organization of the facility, and uphold the highest standards of patient care and safety. Your ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and handle multiple responsibilities will be vital to your success in this role.
