A rapidly growing, technology-driven food manufacturing company is seeking a Repair & Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance operations at one of its production facilities. This role is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and reliability of facility infrastructure, production equipment, HVAC systems, utilities, and automation assets to ensure safe, efficient, and uninterrupted operations. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong technical expertise, preventative maintenance experience, and a proven ability to build and develop high-performing maintenance teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all maintenance activities for the facility, including preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
- Ensure operational reliability of production equipment, HVAC systems, irrigation systems, refrigeration, electrical systems, and facility infrastructure.
- Develop and implement maintenance strategies that improve uptime, equipment performance, and asset longevity.
- Manage maintenance staff, including scheduling, coaching, performance management, and training.
- Prioritize and coordinate maintenance work orders and project activities to minimize operational disruptions.
- Oversee contractor relationships and ensure quality, safety, and compliance standards are met.
- Maintain inventory of spare parts, tools, and maintenance supplies.
- Partner with operations, food safety, quality, and engineering teams to support production goals.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage departmental budgets, maintenance expenditures, and capital improvement projects.
- Analyze maintenance metrics and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, industrial maintenance, manufacturing, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of maintenance leadership experience in manufacturing, food production, or other industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated systems.
- Experience developing and managing preventative maintenance programs.
- Demonstrated leadership and team development capabilities.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with CMMS systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience in food production, greenhouse operations, controlled environment agriculture, or other highly automated facilities.
- Knowledge of refrigeration, HVAC, water systems, and environmental control systems.
- Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or reliability maintenance experience.
- Relevant technical certifications.
Working Conditions
- Ability to work in an active production environment.
- Occasional evening, weekend, and on-call support may be required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work around machinery and equipment.
