Job Summary
Twin Peaks is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Panel Shop Technician to join our UL Listed industrial control panel shop. This position is responsible for assembling, wiring, testing, and troubleshooting electrical control panels in accordance with electrical drawings, customer specifications, company standards, and applicable UL requirements.
The ideal candidate will have one to three years of experience in electrical panel assembly, industrial wiring, electrical construction, or a related field. We are looking for someone who takes pride in quality workmanship, follows instructions carefully, and works well as part of a team.
Duties
- Assemble industrial control panels, enclosures, backplates, wireways, and related components.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, bills of material, and assembly drawings.
- Mount electrical components, including circuit breakers, motor starters, relays, terminal blocks, power supplies, PLC hardware, variable-frequency drives, and communication devices.
- Measure, cut, strip, label, route, and terminate electrical wiring.
- Install wire duct, DIN rail, grounding components, and enclosure hardware.
- Drill, punch, cut, and modify electrical enclosures and mounting panels as required.
- Verify component placement, wire numbers, terminal connections, and device labeling.
- Perform continuity checks, point-to-point inspections, and basic electrical testing.
- Identify and correct wiring, assembly, or component-related issues.
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate drawing discrepancies or material shortages.
- Follow Twin Peaks quality-control procedures and UL panel shop requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Assist with panel modifications, repairs, field returns, and other shop projects as needed.
Skills
- One to three years of experience in electrical panel building, industrial wiring, electrical assembly, electrical construction, or a related trade.
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical panel layouts.
- Experience using common electrical and mechanical hand tools.
- Ability to accurately measure, cut, strip, crimp, label, and terminate wire.
- Basic understanding of electrical components and industrial control systems.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, professional-quality work.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team.
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to safely lift and move up to 50 pounds and work while standing for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a UL 508A Listed industrial control panel shop.
- Familiarity with UL 508A, NFPA 70, and common industrial electrical practices.
- Experience assembling PLC, VFD, motor-control, instrumentation, or automation panels.
- Experience with enclosure fabrication, including drilling, tapping, punching, and Familiarity with torque specifications and calibrated tools.
- Experience with wire-lcutting.
- abeling equipment and electrical testing instruments.
- Technical school, electrical apprenticeship, or related vocational training.
Pay: $28.00 - $36.00 per hour
