Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality dental care to our patients, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction while promoting good oral health practices. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with dentists and other staff to deliver exceptional patient care in a friendly and professional environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough prevention and dental prophylaxis.
- Educate patients and families on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits.
- Document patient treatment plans, progress notes, and any relevant medical history in the electronic health record system.
- Assist in the management of infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Collaborate with dentists to provide comprehensive care.
- Stay updated on advancements in dental hygiene practices and participate in continuing education opportunities.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of infection control procedures to ensure patient safety.
- Proficient understanding of anatomy, medical terminology, and dental terminology.
- Experience with dental software such as Open Dental, Eaglesoft and Dentrix is preferred.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality.
- Ability to perform general dentistry tasks effectively while assisting the dentist as needed.
- Competence in taking vital signs accurately.
- Excellent communication skills to educate patients and work collaboratively with the dental team.
- A compassionate demeanor with a strong commitment to patient care.
