Overview:
VTG is seeking a Deputy Program Manager within our Engineering Systems Business Unit supporting multiple customers with the Department of Navy. Engineering Systems support provides a wide range of technical services associated with key Naval priorities, including Strike Force Interoperability, Interior Communications Engineering, Test and Evaluation, Integrated Combat Systems Engineering and similar efforts. This is a hybrid role at our Washington, DC office.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the program manager with various contracted efforts.
- Interface with various points of contact with Government program authorities on technical and program/project issues.
- Provide assistance overseeing execution of the contract requirements.
- Provide assistance managing acquisition and employment of program/project resources.

Compile, prepare and deliver program summary reports detailing accomplishments, deliverables, near/long termpriorities, and performance metrics.

Develop, implement and oversee employee competency development programs (e.g.: Engineering, BusinessFinancial Management, etc.)

Lead and direct the work of others. Monitor, assess, and implement standards for sustaining and advancingworkforce talent acquisition, capability development, and associated training requirements.

In collaboration with Human Resources, assist with employee performance management and development aligned with company values and business objectives.

Promote and oversee compliance with all corporate operational policies and standards.

Contribute to identifying and understanding federal government customer requirements and resulting businessopportunities.

Participate in Government and Industry forums to cultivate strong partnerships and shared understanding of capabilities.

Lead and/or contribute to pipeline development, capture strategies and proposal development.
Qualifications:
Required Skills:

Candidate should have 15+ years (preferred) in program/project management, of which 10+ years should be in support of Department of Defense/Navy Programs in program management, Government technical management or industry business management.
- BS/BA (Masters preferred) degree in Engineering or Business Management discipline.

PMP (or equivalent) Certification.

Supervisory experience; experience communicating with SES/Flag level personnel.

Must have and maintain an active DOD Secret Clearance or eligibility to gain a clearance.

Understand professional service contracting and government acquisition lifecycle.

Demonstrated ability to apply critical thinking, analyze data and make informed decisions or recommendations, and have a very good work ethic.

Contract Management Knowledge – understanding of roles and responsibilities enabling the candidate to interface with the Government Contracting Officer (CO), the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR), government management personnel and customer agency representatives.
