Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to handle various driving tasks, including loading and unloading cargo.
Responsibilities
- Operate delivery vehicles, including box trucks, ensuring safe transportation of goods to designated locations.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring that items are secured properly during transit.
- Follow assigned routes for deliveries while maintaining punctuality and efficiency.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including delivery logs and receipts.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery status and any potential issues.
- Perform heavy lifting (maybe)
- 3 weeks out 1 week home
Requirements
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; commercial driving experience is preferred.
- Experience in route driving or as a delivery driver is highly desirable.
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles is a plus.
- Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting and long hours on the road.
- Familiarity with safety regulations related to driving and cargo transportation.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.
