Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in clinical procedures, patient care, and dental office operations. As a Dental Assistant, you will support dentists during procedures, manage patient interactions, and ensure the smooth functioning of the dental practice. Your expertise in dental terminology, sterilization protocols, and patient management will contribute to delivering exceptional oral healthcare services in a professional and welcoming environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring all materials are ready for procedures.
- Assist dentists during various dental treatments, including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Take and develop dental X-rays using appropriate techniques while maintaining strict adherence to infection prevention protocols.
- Manage patient records accurately using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Monitor vital signs and medical history of patients to support comprehensive care delivery.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions to promote optimal health outcomes.
- Maintain a sterile environment through proper dental instrument processing and adherence to infection control policies.
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and assisting the dental receptionist as needed.
- Operate dental equipment including 3D scanners, dental x-ray machines, and other clinical tools with proficiency.
- Follow clinical confidentiality policies diligently to protect patient information at all times.
Requirements
- Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting with knowledge of general dentistry procedures.
- Familiarity with EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix for accurate documentation and patient management.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and healthcare infection prevention and control standards.
- Proficiency in taking dental X-rays, including dental radiography techniques for both adults and pediatric patients.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical documentation practices relevant to dentistry.
- Experience assisting with specialized procedures such as oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry is preferred.
- Ability to operate dental equipment safely while maintaining aseptic technique during four-handed dentistry practices.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages and team members across disciplines.
- Certification or training in dental assisting is highly desirable; additional expertise in medical imaging or 3D scanning is a plus.

Pay: $25.89 - $31.18 per hour
