Job Description:
We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Operating Room/ Circulator Nurse to join our dynamic and highly respected surgical team. As an OR Circulator Nurse, you will play a key role in the care of patients undergoing surgical procedures by ensuring a sterile environment, managing the operating room, and providing support to the surgical team. You will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest level of patient safety and care.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the operating room environment to ensure that it is sterile and organized before, during, and after surgery.
- Ensure patient safety by verifying patient information, surgical site, and procedure prior to surgery.
- Assist with patient positioning, draping, and maintaining a safe environment throughout the procedure.
- Monitor patient status and provide immediate support to the surgical team as needed.
- Manage surgical instruments and equipment, ensuring that all tools are sterile, prepared, and available. ? Maybe not necessary but ok to add? Let me know!
- Communicate effectively with the surgical team, family members, and other medical staff to ensure the flow of information and proper patient care.
- Document surgical procedures and activities as required, ensuring accurate and timely records.
- Handle specimens appropriately, ensuring they are transported to the proper departments.
- Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and policies at all times.
- Participate in pre-surgery briefings and post-surgery debriefings.
- Act as a patient advocate by ensuring the patient’s comfort, safety, and dignity throughout the procedure.
Requirements:
- Registered Nurse (RN) with current licensure in California.
- At least 2 years of experience in an operating room or surgical setting is highly preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
- In-depth knowledge of surgical procedures, instruments, and sterile techniques.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stay calm and focused under pressure.
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent, Part Time, PRN
Hours: Evening, will discuss in person
Salary: $40 to $45 based on experience
Requirements:
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) preferred.
- Previous experience as a Surgical Technician is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of surgical instruments, procedures, and sterilization techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a sterile and safe operating room.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
