Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Welcome patients to the dental office
- Prepare patients for treatments or checkups ensuring their comfort
- Select and set up instruments, equipment and materials
- Regulatory sterilization technique
- Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry
- Restorative placement preferred, but not required
- Undertake lab and back office tasks, as instructed
- Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
- Keep the office clean and well-stocked
- Schedule appointments as needed
- Maintain accurate patient records
Skill set should include:
- EDFA Certification or equivalent proven experience required (2+ years)
- Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
- Understanding of health & safety regulations
- Radiology certification
- Good computer skills
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Attention to detail
- Well-organized and reliable
- High school diploma, DA diploma or reference
- Additional certification or training is an asset
- High standard of personal cleanliness
