Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Dump Truck Driver specializing in Tri Axle trucks to join our dynamic logistics team. This vital role involves operating heavy-duty dump trucks to transport and deliver construction materials, debris, and other freight efficiently and safely across various job sites. Duties
- Operate Tri Axle dump trucks with manual or automatic transmission to transport bulk materials such as gravel, dirt, or demolition debris to designated locations.
- Follow GPS navigation and route driving plans to optimize delivery schedules while adhering to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) standards.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo details, and delivery documentation in compliance with hazardous materials regulations when applicable.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck, including checking fluid levels, brakes, tires, and safety equipment to ensure vehicle safety and compliance
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route changes, delivery updates, or safety concerns during daily operations.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record; experience operating tractor-trailers preferred.
- Proven experience driving dump trucks, especially Tri Axle models
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route planning tools for efficient deliveries.
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT compliance standards, hazardous materials handling, and dangerous goods transportation.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely when loading or unloading freight; forklift certification is a plus.
- Strong understanding of logistics cargo handling procedures including freight security and load stability.
- Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, punctuality, and customer service.
