Duties
- Prepare a variety of traditional Indian dishes, ensuring adherence to authentic recipes and presentation standards
- Plan and develop menus that highlight regional flavors while accommodating dietary needs and preferences
- Execute food preparation tasks including poaching, braising, grilling, and food production in high-volume settings
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, maintaining cleanliness and organization in accordance with food safety sanitizing procedures
- Maintain strict food handling protocols to ensure safety and quality during all stages of meal preparation and service
- Collaborate with the dietary department to accommodate special dietary restrictions and meal plans
- Assist in catering events and serve meals with professionalism, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality dishes
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Indian cook or in a similar culinary role, preferably with fine dining or restaurant experience
- Strong knowledge of Indian cuisine techniques such as poaching, braising, grilling, and knife skills
- Experience with food safety management, sanitizing procedures, and high-volume food production environments
- Ability to follow recipes accurately while maintaining consistency in flavor and presentation
- Familiarity with operating commercial kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Previous experience working in the food industry, including catering or food service roles
- Excellent food handling skills combined with a passion for authentic Indian cooking
- Dietary aide experience or menu planning skills are considered a plus for this role
