Heirloom Cafe & Market is a specialty foods establishment in Tomball and is part of Picnic on the Green (www.picniconthegreen.cafe). We promote positive teamwork and work together to prepare and present the best dishes and service to our customers.
As part of the Front-of-the-House (FOH) team, the Cashier will greet customers and assist their cafe orders. They will also assist customers with any questions about the menu, our market items, and any special requests or reservations.
Primary Job Duties:
- Greet customers as they arrive.
- Assist customers with cafe orders, enter into the ordering system, receive payment, and relay orders and special instructions to the kitchen.
- Answer incoming calls to make reservations, answer questions, and/or take to go orders.
- Assist customers in the market area with retail items.
- Back-up the beverage station as needed.
- As part of the FOH team, the Cashier will also assist with delivering food to guests, assist guests in the dining room, pre-bus tables, and keep the dining room clean and well organized.
- The FOH team will also be responsible for cleaning and stocking the restrooms.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience working in a restaurant in a cashier or server position is required.
- Professional demeanor and excellent customer service skills needed. Patience and kindness are required when dealing with customers.
- Ability to work well with others and assist teammates when possible.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, stand for long periods, climb stairs, walk on uneven ground, bend.
- The schedule will be Tuesday through Saturday, 8:00am-3:30pm. On busy days, this position may be required to stay a bit later to complete all closing duties.
Note: This position pays $12 per hour + tips. On average, the pay is typically $16+ per hour.
