JOB SUMMARY:
A currently competent registered nurse who delivers professional care to adults age 55 and over who are demonstrating physical and/or behavioral problems. The nurse will utilize the nursing process, documentation, communication skills, technical skills found in the skill inventory, collaboration with physicians, and other team members to monitor the health needs of the clients of the adult day center.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Identify patient prior to drug administration
2. Dispense, at the designated time, all drugs and assure that the prescription is written and dated by the prescriber.
3. Record drugs administered in medication book, sign and date with the RN’s name.
4. Monitor health aspects while clients are attending program.
5. Report all “noticeable” changes of client to family and physician.
6. Provide safety to toileting of clients who require assistance.
7. Supervise and feed clients, if necessary, at meal times.
8. Write any nursing notes related to unforeseen illnesses.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION
Registered Nurse license to practice in the State of New Jersey.
EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE: Must be knowledgeable and demonstrate competency in current principles and practices which are clinically specific to gerontology.
Pay: Up to $42.00 per hour
