The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis will serve as the strategic finance leader responsible for driving the company’s financial planning, forecasting, performance management, and decision support activities. This role oversees the full FP&A function, providing executive level insights, shaping long term financial strategy, and partnering closely with senior leadership across the organization. The Director will lead the development of budgets, forecasts, financial models, and KPI frameworks that guide the company’s operational and strategic direction. This position reports directly to the CFO and works in close collaboration with the VP, Finance / Controller and executive team.
General responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Business Partnership
- Serve as the primary financial advisor to senior leadership, delivering insights that influence strategic, operational, and investment decisions.
- Partner with the CFO and business unit leaders to align financial plans with corporate strategy and growth objectives.
- Strengthen collaboration between finance and operating teams, ensuring financial transparency and accountability across the organization.
Financial Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead the company’s annual budgeting process, quarterly reforecasts, and multi year financial planning cycles.
- Oversee development of long range financial models, including 3 and 5 year strategic plans.
- Establish and maintain a robust forecasting framework that anticipates business trends and identifies risks and opportunities.
Performance Management & Reporting
- Own the monthly financial reporting process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal and external stakeholder requirements.
- Develop, refine, and monitor enterprise level KPIs; deliver daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance dashboards to executive leadership.
- Analyze actual vs. budget performance, distill key drivers, and communicate actionable insights to senior leaders.
Financial Modeling & Decision Support
- Lead the creation of complex financial models to support strategic initiatives, capital allocation, pricing decisions, and scenario planning.
- Provide high impact financial analysis to support both day to day operations and long term strategic decisions.
- Identify information gaps and implement improved processes, systems, and data structures to enhance financial visibility and decision making.
Team Leadership & Cross Functional Support
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to team members involved in month end close, reporting, and financial analysis.
- Build and develop FP&A capabilities, including tools, processes, and talent, to support the company’s growth.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the finance organization.
- Lead a high performing FP&A team through all employee lifecycles
Other Responsibilities
- Support ad hoc strategic projects and analyses as assigned by senior leadership.
- Champion a culture of analytical rigor, operational excellence, and proactive financial management.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field required; MBA or CFA preferred
- 4+ years of experience in consulting or investment banking required; additional corporate finance or FP&A leadership experience strongly preferred
- Previous experience leading high performing teams
- Advanced financial modeling and Excel skills; experience building complex, dynamic models
- Demonstrated expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Exceptional analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking abilities
- Strong executive communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex information for senior audiences
- Proven ability to lead cross functional initiatives and influence without authority
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and reliability in meeting deadlines
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and operate effectively in a fast paced environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and financial planning tools; strong technology aptitude
- Reliable high speed broadband connection (25 Mbps down / 10 Mbps up minimum) required for remote work
