Job Overview
A Painter is responsible for preparing, painting, and finishing interior and exterior surfaces in residential, commercial, and industrial properties. The Painter ensures all work is completed to high-quality standards while maintaining a safe, clean, and professional work environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for painting by scraping, sanding, patching, caulking, cleaning, and priming.
- Repair minor drywall, plaster, and surface imperfections prior to painting.
- Apply paint, primer, stain, epoxy, and protective coatings using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
- Paint walls, ceilings, doors, trim, baseboards, cabinets, railings, and other interior and exterior surfaces.
- Match paint colors and finishes according to project specifications.
- Protect surrounding areas by masking, covering, and safeguarding furniture, flooring, fixtures, and landscaping.
- Operate and maintain painting equipment, ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and spray systems safely.
- Perform touch-ups and final inspections to ensure a professional, high-quality finish.
- Clean tools, equipment, and work areas upon completion of each project.
- Follow manufacturer specifications, project plans, and safety regulations, including OSHA requirements.
- Estimate material quantities and communicate supply needs to supervisors.
- Work independently or as part of a construction or maintenance team to meet project schedules and deadlines.
- Maintain a professional appearance and provide courteous service to clients, tenants, and property management.
Skills & Qualifications
- Knowledge of surface preparation techniques and painting methods.
- Experience with brushes, rollers, airless sprayers, and specialty coating systems.
- Ability to safely work on ladders, scaffolding, and elevated platforms.
- Understanding of different paint types, primers, stains, sealers, and finishes.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.
- Physical ability to lift materials, stand for extended periods, bend, climb, and perform repetitive tasks.
Location and hours
- Location within the DMV and hour's may vary depending on the jobsite.
Pay: $25.00 per hour
