Direct Care Staff are responsible for ensuring the health, safety and welfare of the residents at any residential treatment center.

Ensuring the cleanliness of the facility

Supervising and counselling residents assigned

Ensuring that all necessary documentation on residents is completed before shift exchange

Reporting all serious incidents to appropriate staff within the time frame as set forth by the licensing minimum standards requirements

Assisting in the supervision of residents during off campus trips and activities

Under the direction of the Shift Supervisor, implementing the therapeutic recreation program

Adhere to all the policies and procedures as set for the by the agency

Posses the abilities to communicate with children that speak and understand languages outside of English i.e. sign language, Spanish etc.
1. To supervise up to (5) assigned residents.
2. Acts as a role model, tutor and leader.
3. Acknowledge inappropriate behaviors of residents and administers disciplinary restrictions.
4. Acquire (50) in-service training hours annually in childcare services, excluding first aide and orientations.
5. Familiarizes themselves with the case history of each resident.
6. Assist in group sessions.
7. Document/record daily progress and significant incidents involving residents.
8. Follow daily schedule as directed by the Shift Supervisor.
9. Record all significant incidents of off-campus activities as directed by the Shift Supervisor.
10. Assist in meal preparation and clean up.
