We are looking for a high-agency Full-Stack Engineer who thrives on building and shipping products end to end. This role offers the opportunity to own critical parts of an AI-powered creative platform, from the browser-based infinite canvas and node workspace to backend APIs and production-grade AI model integrations.
As a key member of the team, you will design, build, deploy, and continuously iterate on features that creators use every day. You will work at the intersection of creative technology and artificial intelligence, taking ideas from concept to production while driving performance, scalability, and exceptional user experiences.

Duties
▸ Own and continuously enhance the node-based infinite canvas built in React and TypeScript, including drag-and-drop interactions, node connections, live previews, multi-model output rendering, and overall application responsiveness and performance.
▸ Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems using Node.js and Python, including RESTful and WebSocket APIs, PostgreSQL database architecture, Redis caching strategies, and production monitoring to ensure reliability, security, and high availability.
▸ Integrate image, video, and audio AI models directly into canvas workflows, implementing robust latency management, asynchronous processing, queue orchestration, request cancellation, retries, and fault-tolerant error recovery mechanisms.
▸ Architect and implement end-to-end features from concept through deployment, taking full ownership of the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, coding, testing, debugging, release management, and post-deployment optimization.
▸ Drive rapid product iteration by analyzing usage data, monitoring system performance, identifying opportunities for improvement, and shipping frequent updates that enable creators to turn ideas into finished outputs quickly and seamlessly.
▸ Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, AI engineers, and other cross-functional stakeholders to define requirements, prioritize features, and deliver high-quality, production-grade creative workflows and exceptional user experiences.
▸ Establish and maintain engineering best practices, including code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, documentation standards, observability, and performance optimization to support long-term scalability and maintainability.
▸ Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across the full stack, proactively identifying bottlenecks and implementing solutions that improve performance, resilience, and user satisfaction.
▸ Stay current with emerging technologies, frameworks, and advancements in AI and creative tooling, proactively recommending and implementing innovations that strengthen the platform's capabilities and competitive advantage.
Requirements
- ▸ 3+ years of production experience with React and TypeScript, demonstrated through shipped features and meaningful pull requests in real-world applications.
▸ Strong backend engineering experience with Node.js or Python, including systems operating under real production traffic and performance constraints.
▸ Proven ownership of interaction-heavy product surfaces such as infinite canvases, node-based editors, workflow builders, live preview systems, or similar complex UI environments.
▸ Solid understanding of full-stack system design, including REST and WebSocket APIs, PostgreSQL data modeling, Redis caching strategies, production monitoring, and asynchronous processing pipelines.
▸ Experience integrating external or model-driven APIs into production systems, with strong handling of latency, queuing, cancellation, retries, failure states, and recovery flows to ensure smooth user experiences.
▸ High-agency, execution-driven mindset with a strong bias toward daily shipping — able to write, test, deploy, and iterate quickly without dependency on long review cycles or heavy process overhead.
▸ Comfortable working on-site in San Francisco and collaborating closely with a fast-moving, high-ownership team.
Bonus / Nice to Have
▸ Experience with real-time or collaborative systems, including WebSockets, CRDTs, multiplayer editing, or live shared state environments.
▸ Hands-on experience integrating AI generation APIs across image, video, audio, 3D, lip-sync, or upscaling pipelines.
▸ Deep familiarity with modern generative AI tools and a strong product intuition for creative workflows, user experience, and creator-focused products.
Pay: $150,000.00 - $190,000.00 per month
