About Atlanta Youth Academy: Atlanta Youth Academy (AYA) is a 27-year-old Christian preparatory school for inner-city youth in Pre-Kindergarten through eighth grade who are willing to work hard and whose academic efforts are well-supported at home. Through an investment-partnership model between donors and our tuition-paying parents, AYA exposes students who otherwise might not have access to such opportunities to life-changing experiences, launching them to a brighter future in high school, college, and beyond.
Position Overview: Atlanta Youth Academy is seeking a nurturing and passionate addition to our After School Program (ASP) team. Under the direction of the After School Program Director, the Coordinator is responsible for leading activities, games, crafts, and homework for participants in the program. The ASP Coordinator must provide the ASP Aides and the ASP student participants with leadership and be a positive role model to them. The Coordinator is responsible for leading and supervising a team of ASP Aides in planning, organizing, and executing daily activities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
● Supervises a team of After School Program Aides.
● Plans and oversees After School Program Activities in conjunction with the After School Program Coordinator.
● Coordinates orderly transition of students from their classrooms to the After School Program (ASP)
● Ensures the safety and security of students and school property during ASP.
● Provides a warm and caring atmosphere and maintains open communication with students
● Provides homework support.
● Leads and engages students in daily activities such as snack time, crafts, playground, and other creative activities as assigned.
● Handles conflicts and discipline according to the AYA handbook.
● Greets parents each afternoon and provides positive feedback.
● Assists in cleaning and securing activity areas.

Pay: $22.00
Schedule:
● Monday to Friday 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. when school is in session.
Physical Demands:
The employee must be able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move objects. This position requires bending at the waist, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. It entails reaching overhead, above the shoulders, and horizontally. Positions may vary from standing, sitting, or walking. Employees may be required to stand for extended periods of time. On a rare occasion, it may be necessary to move quickly, run, etc. over smooth to uneven surfaces such as on asphalt, on the playground, or on the grass. It is necessary to see and hear to monitor student activities and behavior. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
