RESPONSIBILITIES
- Welcome patients and visitors with a friendly, professional demeanor while delivering outstanding customer service.
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently and accurately.
- Schedule, confirm, and coordinate patient appointments, surgical procedures, and follow-up visits.
- Answer and manage a multi-line phone system, responding to patient questions and routing calls appropriately.
- Verify dental and medical insurance benefits and eligibility prior to appointments.
- Obtain and update patient demographic and insurance information.
- Collect co-pays, deductibles, balances, and other patient payments while maintaining accurate financial records.
- Prepare and maintain electronic patient records with a high level of accuracy.
- Ensure all documentation complies with HIPAA, OSHA, and practice policies.
- Coordinate referrals, receive records from referring offices, and maintain effective communication with patients and healthcare providers.
- Assist with administrative duties including scanning, filing, correspondence, and other front office responsibilities.
- Collaborate with providers and clinical staff to ensure efficient patient flow and a positive patient experience.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of one year of front office experience in a dental, oral surgery, periodontal, orthodontic, or medical practice preferred.
- Experience with electronic dental or medical records (EMR/EHR) software is preferred.
- Knowledge of dental and medical terminology.
- Experience verifying dental and medical insurance benefits and explaining patient financial responsibilities.
- Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with exceptional phone etiquette.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
