Job Title: Lawnmower Operator
Position Summary:
The Lawnmower Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining lawnmowers and other groundskeeping equipment to ensure that lawns, fields, and landscaped areas are kept neat, safe, and well-maintained. This role involves routine mowing, trimming, and general upkeep of outdoor areas while following safety standards and company guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate push mowers, riding mowers, and zero-turn mowers to cut grass on assigned properties.
- Perform edging, trimming, and basic landscaping tasks as needed.
- Inspect equipment before and after use; report any maintenance needs or issues.
- Clean and maintain equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Follow proper mowing patterns and schedules to maintain consistent appearance.
- Dispose of clippings, debris, and trash from work areas.
- Follow all safety protocols, including wearing protective gear and ensuring safe operation around people, property, and obstacles.
- Assist groundskeeping team with seasonal tasks such as leaf removal, mulching, and light landscaping.
- Communicate with supervisors regarding job progress, issues, or delays.
Qualifications:
- Experience operating lawnmowers and outdoor power equipment preferred.
- Basic mechanical knowledge for minor maintenance (fueling, blade sharpening, oil changes, etc.).
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Reliable transportation to job sites.
- Must be able to pass background check and drug test
Work Environment:
- Outdoor setting with exposure to weather, noise, and dust.
- May require weekend or early morning shifts depending on schedule.
Job Type: Seasonal
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
