Duties
- Assist with menu planning and meal preparation according to dietary guidelines and customer preferences
- Prepare and serve meals with attention to presentation and food safety standards
- Handle food items safely, including proper storage, handling, and sanitation procedures
- Support kitchen operations by assisting with cooking, plating, and serving food in a timely manner
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas, utensils, and equipment in compliance with health regulations
- Provide excellent food service to residents or customers, ensuring satisfaction and comfort
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations within the dietary department or restaurant setting
- Assist with catering events or special meal requests as needed
Qualifications
- Previous experience in dietary services, culinary arts, or food industry roles such as dietary aide, server, or kitchen staff is preferred
- Knowledge of menu planning, food preparation techniques, and food safety protocols
- Strong knife skills and experience in meal preparation and cooking are advantageous
- Familiarity with fine dining standards or restaurant experience is a plus
- Ability to handle food safely and maintain high hygiene standards throughout all tasks
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Flexibility to work part-time hours with availability during scheduled shifts
- Prior experience in catering or serving roles is beneficial but not required
