American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a Level 1 Trauma Center position requiring strong scrub and circulate skills with a minimum of 2 years of recent acute care OR experience.

Work in the Operating Room of a Level 1 Trauma Center hospital
-
Patient population includes Ortho, Ortho Trauma, Vascular, Urology, and General Surgery cases
-
Preferred experience in Neurosurgery (cranial and spine), Open Heart/Thoracic, Ophthalmology, ENT, Bariatric, and Gynecology

Evening shift schedule: 5x8s, 2:30pm–11:00pm

Every other weekend (2 weekends per month) required
-
On-call requirement: one 12-hour shift per month on a Saturday or Sunday (7A–7P or 7P–7A); no weekday call

This is a mandatory float facility — all clinicians are required to float at the facility's discretion, potentially to other Cook County facilities within 50 miles and occasionally outside their primary area of competency

Charting system: Cerner

Active IL RN license required; no pending licenses accepted

Current BLS certification required

Minimum 2 years of recent acute care OR experience required

Level 1 Trauma Center experience required

Strong scrub and circulate skills required

Experience in Ortho, Ortho Trauma, Vascular, Urology, and General Surgery required

2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Proof of COVID vaccination required; no exceptions

Candidates must reside within 75 miles of the facility

Scrubs are navy blue and provided by the facility
-
Floating may occur to other Cook County facilities; clinicians may receive notice as little as 2 hours before their shift; if floated outside primary competency, a team-based care model will be used
-
RTO is capped at 5 days per contract with no more than 2 consecutive days off; no RTO approved on weekends
-
No RTO approved on holidays or the day before or after a holiday
