Sous Chef – Full Time

Milwaukee Yacht Club is seeking an experienced and motivated Sous Chef to join our culinary team. This full-time leadership position is ideal for a passionate culinary professional who enjoys creating exceptional dining experiences in a private club environment.
Located on Milwaukee's beautiful lakefront, Milwaukee Yacht Club has proudly served its members since 1871. We offer a dynamic culinary program that includes à la carte dining, weddings, private events, banquets, and member-focused special events throughout the year.
What You'll Do
- Assist the Executive Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations
- Lead and supervise kitchen staff during service
- Prepare and execute high-quality menu items with consistency and attention to detail
- Assist with menu development, specials, and seasonal offerings
- Manage food preparation, production schedules, and plating standards
- Maintain inventory, product rotation, and receiving procedures
- Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations
- Train, mentor, and develop kitchen staff
- Step into leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Executive Chef
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of culinary experience in a restaurant, private club, hotel, or banquet setting
- Previous supervisory or Sous Chef experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events
- ServSafe Certification preferred

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
