Site Procurement Associate

About the Opportunity:
We are seeking a motivated Site Procurement Associate to join us for a project with a leading pharmaceutical manufacturing organization in Winslow, Maine. This opportunity is ideal for procurement professionals who enjoy working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while partnering with supply chain, operations, quality, and production teams.
This is a 9-month contract position with the potential to be extended or converted to a full-time role based on business needs and performance. The role follows a hybrid schedule, requiring 3 days onsite and 2 days remote.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead strategic sourcing activities for direct and indirect materials and services.
- Process purchase requisitions and purchase orders while ensuring compliance with procurement policies.
- Conduct RFQs, RFPs, supplier evaluations, and sourcing events.
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, minimum order quantities (MOQs), and commercial terms with suppliers.
- Draft and negotiate supplier agreements and contracts.
- Identify and implement cost savings and productivity initiatives.
- Partner with Supply Chain to maintain inventory levels and support uninterrupted production.
- Review MRP reports and manage material requirements to meet production schedules.
- Collaborate with Procurement, Operations, Manufacturing, Quality, and Site Leadership to improve procurement performance.
- Monitor supplier performance through KPIs and supplier scorecards while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support supplier onboarding, vendor master updates, material master maintenance, and supplier compliance activities.
- Resolve supplier delivery issues and communicate critical updates to internal stakeholders.
- Participate in supplier audits, sourcing projects, new product launches, and second-source qualification activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or post-secondary education in Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of procurement, purchasing, or supply chain experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong experience with SAP or other ERP systems.
- Experience with MRP, inventory planning, purchase orders, supplier management, and sourcing.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Professional procurement certifications (such as CIPS) are a plus but not required.
Preferred Experience:
- Strategic sourcing and category management.
- Supplier relationship management and performance measurement.
- Manufacturing or regulated industry experience.
- Cost savings initiatives and procurement process improvements.
- Inventory planning, forecasting, and production support.
