Abilene High School is seeking an Assistant Boys Tennis Coach for the upcoming spring 2027 season. Abilene High School is committed to developing student athletes through a positive, competitive, and growth-minded approach. We are looking for an enthusiastic coach who is passionate about teaching tennis, building strong relationships, and helping student-athletes reach their full potential both on and off the court.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated coach to join a dedicated staff, contribute to a strong tennis program, and help continue the growth and success of Abilene Boys Tennis.
Duties of the position include (but are not limited to):

Teaching and modeling the Abilene Athletics & Activities core values of Commitment, Effort, and Teamwork.

Coaching in a transformative manner that builds strong relationships and helps student athletes grow not only as tennis players but also as people.

Teaching tennis fundamentals, stroke development, footwork, positioning, singles and doubles strategies, and competition skills.

Preparing and implementing efficient, focused practices that emphasize skill development, tennis IQ, and continuous improvement.

Working collaboratively with the head coach to develop student athletes and build a positive, competitive team culture.

Assisting with match preparation, tournament organization, athlete development, and other aspects of the boys tennis program.

Providing positive leadership, organization, and encouragement while helping create a culture of excellence within the program.

Following all policies and guidelines set forth by KSHSAA, USD 435, and Abilene High School.
