Facilities Engineer
Location: Pooler, GA
Pay: $45.42/hour
Schedule: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday-Friday (1-hour lunch)
Overtime: As needed
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Facilities Engineer to support, maintain, and improve facility infrastructure and utility systems at our Pooler, GA location. The ideal Facilities Engineer will have hands-on experience with facility equipment such as cranes, commercial HVAC systems, electrical distribution, and building utilities. This position is focused on facility systems and infrastructure and does not support production equipment.
The Facilities Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams across all aspects of facility operations, providing technical expertise, managing capital improvement projects, and driving reliability and efficiency initiatives. The successful Facilities Engineer will utilize SAP for equipment and asset management activities.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide engineering support for facility infrastructure systems, including HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing, compressed air, fire protection, building automation, cranes, and related utilities.
- Interpret and work from facility drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Apply knowledge of facility electrical power systems up to 480 volts.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve facility asset reliability, efficiency, maintainability, and life-cycle performance through root cause analysis and asset management programs.
- Develop and maintain engineering standards, technical specifications, operating procedures, and facility documentation.
- Manage preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance programs utilizing CMMS tools and SAP to track asset performance and maintenance activities.
- Lead large-scale facility capital projects, renovations, expansions, and infrastructure improvements from concept through completion, including budgeting, scheduling, contractor coordination, and execution.
- Drive energy management, sustainability, and environmental initiatives by identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost savings.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, EPA, local codes, and company standards through inspections, audits, risk assessments, permitting, and emergency preparedness activities.
- Manage contractor, vendor, and service provider relationships, including bid evaluations, contract administration, safety oversight, quality assurance, and service performance management.
- Develop and manage facility operating and capital budgets while supporting long-range asset planning.
- Partner with facility operations, maintenance, engineering, and leadership teams to support all facets of facility management.
Qualifications
Required
- 3+ years of experience in facilities engineering, maintenance engineering, industrial operations, or a related field.
- Experience working with facility equipment, including cranes, commercial HVAC systems, and utility infrastructure.
- Experience managing larger facility or infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of facility electrical systems up to 480 volts.
- Ability to read and interpret facility drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation.
- Experience using SAP for equipment management and maintenance activities.
- Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and facility utility systems.
- Project management and contractor coordination experience.
- Understanding of OSHA, NFPA, environmental, and building code requirements.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and facility management software.
Preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Facilities Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- Experience with CMMS and Building Management Systems (BMS).
Pay: $45.42 - $47.50 per hour
