Chief Executive Officer /Chief Financial Officer
Lohman Helicopter LLC is seeking an experienced “hands-on” CEO/CFO. This is a dual executive and leadership role that assists the owners in leading and aligning strategy, company practices, assist in over-seeing operations and lead the company’s accounting and financial operations.
This leadership position is for someone who is a unifying leader. This is not a narrowly defined executive position. It requires a leader who is willing to get into the details, solve problems, establish accountability, and remain closely connected to operations.
Because of the specialized nature of Lohman Helicopter, candidates should have meaningful leadership experience in aviation, construction, government contracting, project-based operations, or another asset-intensive industry.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead all accounting and financial functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll oversight, fixed assets, cash management, and financial reporting.
- Prepare and present financial reports, forecasts, budgets, cash-flow projections, and operating analyses to ownership and executive leadership.
- Establish meaningful financial and operational key performance indicators for management.
- Maintain accurate project and job-cost reporting for aviation, firefighting, government, construction, and other operating activities.
- Work with operational leaders to improve budgeting, cost control, project forecasting, aircraft and equipment utilization reporting, and accountability.
- Contract review and support with private, federal, and state contracts.
- Assist with strategic planning, identify financial risks and communicate problems promptly, clearly, and directly to leadership.
- Lead, develop, and hold accountable the accounting and administrative team.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or a closely related degree.
- At least seven years of progressively responsible accounting or financial management experience.
- Demonstrated responsibility for financial statements, monthly close, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and internal controls.
- Experience managing or supervising accounting personnel and developing clear processes and expectations.
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and accrual-based accounting.
- Advanced proficiency with accounting systems, Quick Books, Microsoft Excel, and financial reporting tools.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet firm deadlines, and maintain accuracy during high-volume operating periods.
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- High level of integrity, discretion, ownership, and professional judgment.
Strongly Preferred Qualifications
- Financial leadership experience in aviation, construction, government contracting, heavy equipment, utilities, or another project-based and asset-intensive business.
- Familiarity with aircraft, fleet, equipment, inventory, maintenance, or other significant fixed-asset accounting.
- Experience with federal contracts, government reporting, bonding, surety relationships, or multi-state operations.
- CPA, CMA, MBA, or another relevant professional credential.
Who Will Succeed in This Role
The successful candidate will be a confident financial professional who understands that accuracy and timeliness are equally important. You must be able to see the larger operational and financial picture without losing control of the details.
This position is best suited for a self-directed leader who takes initiative, follows issues through to completion, and remains composed when priorities change or operating demands increase.
Application Instructions
- Qualified candidates should submit:
- A current résumé
- A brief cover letter describing relevant aviation, construction, government-contracting, or project-accounting experience
- Professional references
Qualified candidates will be contacted to discuss the position and next steps.
