Mountain Park PlaySchool is seeking an energetic, dependable, and nurturing Temporary Assistant Teacher to support our 4–5-year-old classroom during the 2026-2027 school year. This classroom is filled with curious learners who are building independence, problem-solving skills, friendships, and confidence as they prepare for their next big step—kindergarten.
This is a full-time temporary position running from August 2026 through February or March 2027, with the opportunity to remain connected to our program as an on-call substitute after the assignment ends.

What You'll Do
- Support engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences for 4–5-year-olds.
- Encourage social-emotional growth, independence, and problem-solving skills.
- Help maintain a safe, organized, and positive classroom environment.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers.
- Assist with daily routines, transitions, outdoor play, meals, and classroom activities.
- Have fun reading stories, leading activities, exploring outdoors, and celebrating children's growth and achievements.

Position Details
Schedule: Full-Time, Temporary
Duration: August 2026 through February/March 2027
Pay: Starting at $20/hour
Future Opportunity: Eligible to join Mountain Park PlaySchool's substitute/on-call team upon successful completion of the temporary assignment.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Oregon Central Background Registry enrollment
- Food Handler certification within 30 days of hire
- CPR/First Aid/AED certification within 6 months of hire
- Ability to meet all required training and licensing requirements
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week
