The ideal Banquet Supervisor candidate will be capable of completing the following responsibilities:
Interview, hire & train, and resolve service issues with

Oversee the set-up of function rooms to include placement of linens, silver, China, and glassware. Visually inspect event space and equipment prior to functions for cleanliness, proper inventory, and set up. Supervise clean-up of function room and proper breakdown and storage of equipment.

Enter billing information in order to generate a final guest check. Post all banquet checks at end of day.

Assist with processing payroll including calculating number of hours worked and gratuity distribution.

Check staff attendance according to schedules, adjust and reassign staffing, in order to provide quality service during functions.

Maximize guest satisfaction on every level.

Attend pre-function meetings with clients and guests when needed to ensure comprehensive understanding of expectations.

Conduct pre-function meetings with service staff.

Ensure Edgewater service protocol is followed by staff.

Guide timing of guest experience.

Resolve any guest complaints.

Supervise and manage staff including scheduling & training.

Ensuring constant communication is maintained with the Catering, Sales, Kitchen and Banquet department team members.

Complete weekly food and beverage (liquor) ordering.

Conduct month-end inventory and post in a timely fashion.

Assign duties to banquet staff and supporting Banquet Captains assigned to particular event or functions.

Act as Manager on Duty at other F&B Outlets when demands in the Banquet Department are low.

Perform other related duties that may be assigned by Management.

Additional Qualifications
Minimum 1 year experience working as a Banquet Captain/Banquet Supervisor, preferably in a high-volume banquet or hotel environment.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks at once.

Experience developing and training employees to include Assistant Banquet Manager.

Ability to communicate effectively with guests, co-workers and management.

Strong guest service skills and the ability to resolve guest issues or complaints.

Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.

Must be able to perform multiple tasks and prioritize efficiently.

Demonstrate an understanding of food, food ingredients, food prep methods, proper food storage, sanitation requirements and basic bar terminology.

Ability to be able to operate the following: coffee machine, hot box, soda dispensers, beer taps and related equipment.

Combined 3+ year's previous hotel and/or food and beverage service (Preferred)
