Description
The Daspit Law firm is a mid-sized and fast-pace plaintiff’s firm with its main office in downtown Houston. Founded by two attorneys from one of the nation’s most prestigious law firms, The Daspit Law Firm handles a wide variety of injury cases, including car accidents, construction accidents, oil field accidents, industrial accidents, plant & refinery accidents, and more. We also represent injured employees in workers' compensation claims. The Daspit Law Firm offers frequent courtroom experience with the opportunity for courtroom appearances during all stages of litigation.
Essential Duties
- Prepare legal drafts by assembling and organizing information for legal forms and documents, including petitions, motions, discovery requests, discovery responses, and other pleadings;
- Draft petitions, motions, orders, and other legal documents;
- Search resources, physical evidence, documents, and legal records to obtain information applicable to a case or issue under consideration; and
- Conduct legal research by studying laws, statutes, constitutions, regulations, court opinions, including precedents and reasoning.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher;
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills. Candidates will be required to communicate with clients by phone and email;
- Exceptional attention to detail, proofreading, and editing skills;
- Candidates must be self-motivated and task-oriented;
- Strong organizational and time management skills;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word; and
- Bilingual – not required, but preferred.
