An Owner Operator is a self-employed, independent truck driver who owns and manages their own vehicle — such as a Sprinter Van, Cargo Van, or Box Truck — to haul freight for logistics companies and clients. You have complete control over your routes, schedule, and business operations.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Performing pickups and deliveries across local, regional, and long-haul routes
- Maintaining your vehicle at peak condition through regular upkeep, inspections, and cleaning
- Developing efficient route plans to meet deadlines while reducing fuel consumption
- Staying fully compliant with DOT regulations, safety requirements, and logbook rules
- Building strong professional communication with dispatchers, brokers, and customers
- Overseeing the business operations, including expense tracking, receipts, invoicing, and documentation
- Safely loading and securing cargo to ensure it arrives in perfect condition
Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license for your specific vehicle type
- Active Commercial Liability Insurance (proof required)
- Your own Sprinter Van, Cargo Van, or Box Truck (16–26 ft)
- Clean driving record
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Previous freight or delivery experience preferred
