Dietrich & Kenyon, PLLC is a boutique law firm focusing on bankruptcy representation throughout Michigan. We are a nineteen person firm with offices in East Lansing. We are the largest filer of Chapter 13 bankruptcies in the Western District of Michigan.
We are seeking an Associate Attorney. This is a full-time, in office position.
We are seeking candidates licensed to practice law in Michigan. Candidates with bankruptcy/creditor representation and/or litigation experience will be preferred. No bankruptcy experience is required. Candidates must be dependable, personable, organized, and professional.
Our practice requires occasional travel to all federal bankruptcy courts in the lower peninsula (Lansing, Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Flint, Detroit, Bay City and Traverse City). Some courts are still operating remotely (Zoom/telephonic); the majority have resumed in person hearings. An ability to travel as needed for court hearings is a necessity.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:
- Draft and edit correspondence and other legal documents related to bankruptcy practice.
- Communicate effectively with clients, trustees and opposing counsel.
- Attend hearings in federal courts throughout the lower peninsula.
- Manage hearing docket.
- Maintain client files, documents, and records.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Valid Michigan bar license; admittance to (or ability to gain admittance) in the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel.
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and interpersonal).
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills.
- Ability to adapt and work effectively with various levels of legal staff and third parties.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality.
- Compensation will be adjusted based on experience, incentive compensation will be a portion of compensation package.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
