American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiothoracic ICU position at a large Level I Trauma Center and Academic Medical Center, requiring a minimum of 3 years of cardiac ICU experience and Swan-Ganz monitoring proficiency.

Cardiothoracic ICU (CTICU) setting within a large, Level I Trauma Center and Academic Medical Center with 1,500+ beds
-
High-acuity cardiac ICU caring for cardiothoracic surgical and complex cardiac patients
-
Patient ratio averages 1:2 on both day and night shifts
-
Swan-Ganz hemodynamic monitoring is routinely utilized
-
Charting performed in Epic
-
Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
-
Every other weekend required
-
Floating required to other Heart and Vascular Center (HVC) ICUs within scope of practice
-
No on-call requirements
-
Block scheduling is not available for this position
-
Active CT or Compact RN license; pending license accepted at time of consideration

Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Minimum 3 years of cardiac ICU experience required

Proficiency with Swan-Ganz catheter monitoring required

Experience in a large Trauma Center setting required

Clean nursing license with no prior disciplinary actions

1 professional reference required for consideration

This is a high-acuity unit requiring knowledgeable, experienced RNs with strong cardiac critical care skills
-
First-time travelers are welcome to apply provided they have Cardiothoracic ICU and/or critical care experience

Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates; local candidates are not eligible for this position

Former permanent staff of this health system must have been separated for at least 2 years before being considered as a traveler
-
RTO of up to 7 days may be auto-approved; requests exceeding 7 days require facility approval
-
Flu vaccine is required; declinations are not accepted
-
COVID vaccine and booster required; religious or medical exemptions may be considered
