Timberroot Rustic Retreats is looking for a high-capacity leader to run housekeeping operations at Wauhatchie Woodlands. This is not a caretaker role. We need someone who can build and lead a team, set a standard of excellence, and create a culture people actually want to work in while being willing to put on gloves and do the hard work on any given day.
If you're looking for a low-effort supervisory title, this isn't it. If you want to build something real and lead a team that trusts you, keep reading.
What You'll Do
- Build and lead a team of housekeepers, setting the tone for a positive, life-giving culture where people want to show up and do great work
- Recruit, hire, onboard, and train new employees to company cleaning standards and protocols from day one
- Own inventory and supply ordering for the property. Track usage, forecast needs, and make sure the team never runs short on what they need mid-turnover
- Set and hold the standard for cleaning quality across the property
- Dive into problems as they come. Callbacks, no-shows, last-minute turnovers, and other daily fires are part of the job, not an exception to it
- Coach your team continuously, not just at onboarding, and make the hard call to let someone go when it's right
- Run post-clean inspections and catch issues before guests do
- Build schedules that keep the property covered without burning your team out
- Report directly to the Director of Operations
What We're Looking For
- A leader first. Someone who can build a team, set a vision for how the property should run, and get people to buy in
- Experience training or onboarding new employees to a defined standard
- Comfortable owning inventory and ordering, not just executing cleans
- Comfortable making hard people decisions: hiring the right person, coaching underperformers, and firing when it's the right call
- Comfortable with technology and apps. We use Slack, Breezeway, Guesty, and Google Suite daily. Experience with these or similar tools is a plus
- High personal standard for cleanliness and no ego about doing hands-on work
- Genuinely wants to build a positive culture on the team, not just enforce rules
- Previous experience in hospitality, hotel, or short-term rental cleaning
- Prior experience leading or supervising a team
- Resilient. Does not get rattled by a hard day or a full plate
- Reliable transportation and available to work weekends
