The Opportunity
Apple Island Resort is Vermont’s premier luxury RV resort, offering luxury RV accommodations, a 9-hole executive golf course, a full-service marina, waterfront recreation, retail and dining along Lake Champlain. We seek an accomplished hospitality executive to lead operations, deliver exceptional guest experiences and drive continued growth as one of North America’s leading luxury RV destinations.
Position Summary
The General Manager is the Resort’s senior operational leader, responsible for financial performance, operational excellence, guest satisfaction, team development and stewardship of the Resort’s assets. Working closely with Ownership, the GM provides strategic leadership while fostering a culture of accountability, innovation and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
· Strategic Leadership: Lead the Resort’s vision, strategy and performance; develop leaders; execute long-term objectives with Ownership.
· Operations: Oversee all departments to ensure efficient operations, regulatory compliance and consistently exceptional guest experiences.
· Financial Management: Manage budgets, forecasting, revenue optimization and expense control while reporting key performance indicators and improving profitability.
· Guest Experience: Champion luxury hospitality standards, monitor guest feedback and continuously improve service delivery.
· Asset & Property Management: Protect and enhance Resort assets through capital planning, preventative maintenance and high presentation standards. Support cottage sales by maintaining inventory, model cottages, amenities and grounds to maximize buyer appeal.
· People & Culture: Recruit, coach and retain high-performing teams while promoting safety, accountability, inclusion and professional development.
· Governance & Risk: Ensure compliance with legal, safety and environmental requirements while protecting the Resort’s reputation.
· Stakeholder Relations: Build strong relationships with Ownership, residents, guests, vendors and community partners, providing clear operational and strategic communication.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business or related field preferred.
· 10+ years of progressive hospitality leadership, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
· Experience leading complex multi-department luxury hospitality operations.
· Strong financial, operational and people leadership skills.
· Proven ability to drive growth, improve performance and inspire teams.
