Part-Time | Flexible Schedule | Weekend, Night, Holiday Availability Required
Our dedicated guinea pig and goat rescue is looking for a compassionate, dependable Kennel Technician to join our team! This role is perfect for someone who genuinely loves animals, doesn’t mind getting their hands dirty, and thrives in an independent work environment.
We are willing to train the right candidate - but we’re looking for someone with a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a true passion for animal care.
Schedule: We operate morning through night, 7 days a week.
Shifts may include:
- Morning shifts
- Afternoon shifts
- Evening shifts
- Hours depend on availability but can range between 12 to 32 hours weekly.
Night, weekend and holiday availability are required.
Flexible scheduling is available, but reliability and consistency are essential.
Responsibilities
- Provide fresh water and hay to guinea pigs and goats.
- Administer medications as prescribed by a veterinarian
- Monitor guinea pig and goat behavior and health; report concerns promptly
- Clean and sanitize kennels and living areas thoroughly
- Perform large amounts of laundry daily (bedding, fleece liners, etc.)
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of rescue areas
- Follow feeding, care, and medical protocols carefully
- Raking goat stalls

- Has a genuine love for animals (especially small animals and goats)
- Understands guinea pig behavior or is willing to learn
- Notices subtle signs of illness or distress
- Has a positive, team-oriented attitude
- Works well independently and stays motivated
- Communicates clearly and professionally
- Is comfortable with frequent cleaning and physically active work
- Can work weekends
- Is dependable and punctual
