Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Commercial Glazier Contractor to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and replacing glass and glazing systems in commercial buildings. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects like storefronts, municipal buildings, etc.
Duties
- Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings to accurately execute glass installation projects.
- Measure dimensions precisely using tools like tape measures and laser measurement devices to ensure proper fit and finish.
- Handle glass materials safely, including cutting, fitting, and installing various types of glass such as tempered, laminated, or insulated units.
- Install windows, doors, fixtures, and other glazing components with precision using hand tools and power tools.
- Perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks involving glass panels and framing materials while adhering to safety protocols.
- Use caulking, metal-brakes, and other finishing techniques to ensure seamless installation and weatherproofing.
Qualifications
- Experience in construction estimating, blueprint reading, and interpreting technical drawings.
- Strong knowledge of glass materials handling, window installation, door installation, and fixture setup.
- Skilled in using hand tools
- Familiarity with measuring (quality control), dimensional measurements, and construction site safety practices.
- Hands-on experience with glass materials installation on commercial projects; handyman or carpentry background is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during installation processes.
- Knowledge of caulking techniques, trim carpentry, metal stud framing, and construction plans is highly desirable.
Pay: $29.00 - $33.00 per hour
