Church and Union Charleston is looking for a bartender to join our dynamic team.
Location: Charleston, SC
Job Type: Part-Time or Full-Time
Compensation: $5 per hour + tips with a minimum hourly wage of $15 an hour
The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual with excellent people skills with a minimum of 2 years of prior bartending experience. Recipients of this position must have knowledge of wine and various types of liquors and must be able to hold a crowd in a high-volume environment
Responsibilities include:
- Setup, maintenance, stocking, and operation of the bar while always providing friendly and attentive service
- Takes drink orders from patrons or servers and prepares and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to standard recipe
- Handling cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate and returning correct change to patrons
- Ability to clearly articulate our cuisine, curated cocktails, and large wine list
- Mixes ingredients for cocktails and serves wine and bottled or draught beer
- Wash and sterilize glassware, prepare garnishes for drinks
- Help to curate new and creative seasonal cocktails and weekly cocktail features
Requirements include:
- 2 years of prior bartending experience
- Demonstrates excellent teamwork with other departments
- Energetic, warm, personable, and professional demeanor
· Understanding of service etiquette for table service, which will include the proper methods and standards for properly serving and clearing dining guests.
- Able to stand for extended periods of time
- Able to lift and carry 20+ pounds
