Position Overview:
The Surveillance Inspector is responsible for monitoring and verifying that all maintenance, repair, and overhaul activities are performed in compliance with FAA, EASA, OEM, and company procedures.
This role conducts ongoing surveillance of shop processes, personnel, and documentation to ensure adherence to approved data, regulatory standards, and internal policies. The Surveillance Inspector plays a key role in identifying risks, preventing non-compliance, and supporting continuous improvement within the organization’s quality system.
Duties and Responsabilities:
Perform routine and targeted surveillance of maintenance and production activities across all shop areas
- Verify compliance with FAA, EASA, OEM, and Repair Station Manual (RSM) requirements
- Monitor adherence to approved technical data, procedures, and work instructions during maintenance operations
- Conduct audits of work packages, maintenance records, and documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and traceability
- Observe and verify that personnel are properly trained, qualified, and authorized to perform assigned tasks
- Identify non-compliance issues, deviations, or potential risks and document findings accurately
- Issue surveillance reports and ensure findings are communicated to appropriate departments and leadership
- Follow up on corrective and preventive actions to ensure timely and effective resolution
- Support root cause analysis activities related to quality findings and operational discrepancies
- Ensure proper use, calibration, and control of tools and equipment during observed activities
- Monitor compliance with safety procedures and promote adherence to safety standards
- Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to address findings and improve processes
- Support internal and external audits, including FAA and customer audits, as required
- Track trends in findings and provide input for continuous improvement initiatives
- Other related tasks can be assigned
Qualifications and Skills:
Strong knowledge of FAA regulations, EASA standards, OEM manuals, repair Station requirements
- Experience conducting audits, surveillance, or quality inspections in a regulated environment
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical data, maintenance records, and regulatory documentation
- Ability to identify risks, non-compliance, and process gaps proactively
- Ability to work independently and objectively in evaluating compliance
- Familiarity with maintenance tracking systems and documentation tools
