Qualifications & Experience:
- Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST)
- Previous experience in an operating room technician (ORT) role
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques, surgical procedures, and instrument handling
- Ability to anticipate the needs of surgeons and operating room teams
- Strong communication and organizational abilities
- Commitment to patient safety and strict adherence to protocols
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare operating rooms, ensuring all instruments and equipment are sterilized and ready
- Assist surgeons during operations, passing instruments and maintaining a sterile field
- Monitor supplies and restock as necessary during and after procedures
- Support perioperative nursing staff with patient preparation, including proper positioning and draping
- Perform accurate counts of sponges, sharps, and instruments
- Adhere to infection control and safety standards throughout every procedure
- Document activities and communicate effectively with the surgical team
