Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments following aseptic techniques to maintain a safe clinical environment.
- Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring smooth workflow through four-handed dentistry practices.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), operate 3D scanners, and handle medical imaging equipment with precision.
- Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy in medical documentation and coding.
- Monitor vital signs and assist with patient comfort by providing chairside assistance throughout treatments.
- Maintain infection control standards and adhere to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality and data security.
- Support the dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and answering patient inquiries professionally.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy.
- Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, familiarity with medical records management is a plus.
- Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and HIPAA compliance.
- Certification or training in X-ray technology; experience with medical imaging equipment is preferred.
- Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles and experience caring for pediatric patients is advantageous.
- Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining high standards of patient care.
