The School Gourmet is seeking dependable, service-minded team members who are passionate about preparing and serving fresh, high-quality meals to students. This is a dual-role position that combines kitchen production with front-of-house meal service, making it ideal for candidates who enjoy variety, teamwork, and creating a positive dining experience.
We are currently expanding our team with 20+ positions available across our organization, with additional opportunities throughout the Atlanta area.
What You’ll Do
As a Kitchen Assistant & Student Dining Ambassador, you will:
- Assist with food preparation following standardized recipes and production schedules.
- Prepare ingredients including washing, chopping, portioning, and assembling meals.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen in accordance with health department standards.
- Support packaging, stocking, and meal distribution.
- Serve meals to students with professionalism, warmth, and efficiency.
- Create a welcoming and positive dining experience for every child.
- Monitor food quality, presentation, and portion control.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
- Work closely with chefs and fellow team members to ensure smooth daily operations.
Qualifications
We’re looking for individuals who take pride in their work and genuinely care about serving others.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Previous experience in food service, restaurants, schools, healthcare, catering, or hospitality.
- Current ServSafe Certification (or willingness to obtain one).
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong work ethic with excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Positive attitude and professional appearance.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and remain on your feet throughout the shift.
- Team-oriented with exceptional customer service skills.
- Passion for serving children and making a difference in their school day.
