About Nexus Game Lounge
Nexus Game Lounge is a community-focused gaming retailer and entertainment venue offering tabletop roleplaying games, trading card games, miniature wargames, board games, organized events, and other social gaming experiences.
We believe a successful game store should be more than a place to purchase products. It should be a welcoming community where new customers feel comfortable, experienced players remain engaged, and employees bring positive energy and enthusiasm to every interaction.
Position Overview
Nexus Game Lounge is seeking an experienced and customer-focused Store Manager to lead the daily operation of our Denton store.
The Store Manager is responsible for the overall performance, culture, organization, and customer experience of the location. This includes leading the store team, overseeing retail sales, managing organized gaming events, maintaining inventory and cash controls, preparing employee schedules, and ensuring that the store remains clean, welcoming, and operationally sound.
This is an active, hands-on leadership position. The Store Manager is expected to be visible on the sales floor, engage with customers, support employees, assist during busy periods, and participate in the gaming communities served by the store.
The ideal candidate combines strong retail-management skills with enthusiasm for tabletop gaming and a genuine enjoyment of working with people.

- Establish clear expectations for customer service, sales, events, attendance, cleanliness, and task completion.
- Provide regular feedback, recognition, and performance coaching.
- Address attendance, conduct, and performance concerns promptly and consistently.
- Build a positive and accountable workplace culture.
- Delegate responsibilities clearly and follow up to ensure completion.

- Maintain accurate and organized inventory records.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies, shrinkage, damage, and mispricing.
- Ensure high-value products are stored and handled appropriately.
- Maintain organized sales-floor, event, office, and storage areas.
- Monitor facility and equipment conditions and report maintenance needs.
- Complete required reports, logs, checklists, and operational documentation.
Manage Scheduling and Labor
- Prepare employee schedules based on store traffic, events, employee availability, and labor expectations.
