Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of menu items with attention to quality, presentation, and consistency
- Follow recipes and menu plans accurately while maintaining flexibility for special dietary needs or modifications
- Ensure proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures are strictly adhered to in compliance with health regulations
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting new dishes or improvements based on customer feedback and seasonal ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen workstations, equipment, and utensils throughout each shift
- Support food service operations by assisting with plating, serving, and catering events as needed
- Monitor inventory levels, report shortages, and help with stock rotation to minimize waste
Experience
- Previous dietary department experience or dietary aide experience is highly desirable
- Proven background in food preparation, cooking, and food handling within restaurant or food industry settings
- Strong knowledge of kitchen safety protocols and food safety standards
- Experience in menu planning, meal preparation, and catering services is preferred
- Skilled in knife handling and various cooking techniques to ensure efficient meal production
- Familiarity with food service operations including serving customers and managing food presentation
- Demonstrated ability to work quickly, efficiently, and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
