Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Junior Carpenter to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who is eager to develop their carpentry skills while working alongside experienced craftsmen on high-end residential renovation and new construction projects.
The Junior Carpenter will assist Lead Carpenters with a variety of construction activities, contribute to a safe and productive job site, and learn the skills necessary to advance within the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with demo, framing, trim carpentry, siding, decking, and finish carpentry work.
- Measure, cut, assemble, and install building materials according to project plans and specifications.
- Support Lead Carpenters in daily job site operations.
- Load, unload, organize, and maintain materials, tools, and equipment.
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized job sites.
- Follow construction drawings, project specifications, and supervisor instructions.
- Work collaboratively with team members of varying skill levels.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude and contribute to a productive team environment.
- Help identify and avoid potential job site safety hazards.
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
- Participate in training and skill development opportunities.
Qualifications Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic understanding of construction practices and carpentry tools.
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Positive attitude and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work.
Preferred:
- 1–2 years of carpentry or construction experience.
- Experience working on residential remodeling or new construction projects.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and common construction equipment.
Working Conditions:
- Work performed indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and lifting.
- Regular use of hand tools, power tools, ladders, and scaffolding.
- Travel between job sites as required.
- Occasional overtime may be necessary to meet project schedules.
