Senior Accountant
Location: Scarborough, ME (onsite to start, with potential for 1 day/week remote once acclimated)
Compensation: Up to $100K base salary + bonus potential
Overview
Our client, a growing company with operations in Scarborough, ME, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team. This is an onsite position to start, with the flexibility to work from home one day per week once fully acclimated to the role and team. Responsibilities
- Manage and perform month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to support business decision-making
- Assist with the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis
- Support internal and external audit processes, including preparing schedules and documentation
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and help implement best practices
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff as needed
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to support overall business objectives
- Assist with special projects as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP/accounting software preferred
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Pay: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
