Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 8:30AM-3PM – Friday 8AM-12PM

New Hope Fellowship is a growing Christian church in Sun City West, Arizona, committed to helping people know Christ, grow in faith, and serve others. We are seeking a detail-oriented and trustworthy Bookkeeper to oversee the church’s financial operations, payroll processes, and administrative responsibilities.
Position Summary
The Bookkeeper is responsible for managing the day-to-day financial operations of the church, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, financial reporting, budgeting support, donor records, and various administrative and human resource functions.
The ideal candidate must have strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and strong problem solving abilities.
Qualifications
· Minimum of three (3) years bookkeeping or accounting experience.
· Proficiency with QuickBooks required.
· Experience with payroll processing.
· Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
· Excellent organizational and communication skills.
· Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
· Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
· Experience with nonprofit or church accounting preferred.
· Understanding of donor confidentiality and financial ethics.
· Agreement with the mission and values of New Hope Fellowship.
Primary ResponsibilitiesAccounts Receivable
· Process and record weekly contributions and donations.
· Prepare and make bank deposits.
· Enter donations into QuickBooks.
· Maintain donor records and update contact information.
· Prepare annual donor contribution statements.
Accounts Payable
· Process invoices, reimbursements, and vendor payments.
· Issue checks and maintain payment records.
· Monitor online payments and bank transactions.
· Maintain vendor files and payment schedules.
Payroll and Human Resources
· Process payroll twice monthly.
· Maintain payroll records and employee files.
· Track vacation and sick leave balances.
· Assist with employee reviews and anniversary dates.
· Gather info for 1099s at year end and distribute W-2s and 1099s
· Coordinate payroll information with payroll service providers.
Financial Management
· Reconcile bank accounts and credit card accounts.
· Reconcile petty cash.
· Monitor restricted and designated funds.
· Prepare monthly financial reports for treasurer.
· Close accounting periods in QuickBooks.
· Monitor church budgets and assist ministry leaders with budget accountability.
· Assist in preparing the annual church budget.
· Complete year-end financial closing procedures.
Administrative and Compliance Duties
· Serve as a member of the church administrative team.
· Assist in developing and maintaining financial policies.
· Monitor insurance policies and prepare annual workers’ compensation audit.
· Maintain contractor W-9 records and insurance documentation.
· Prepare and update administrative forms and financial documents.
